North Africa dioramas using Tamiya vehicles and Airfix multi-pose troops

This collection was put together with figures and vehicles that I was originally using for wargaming in 1/32 scale and then finally I put them into small dioramas.
below we have a lovely Panzer II passing a bombed out house with Afrika Korps support.

Next we see a tracked M3 being used for infantry support by the desert rats during a later campaign.

Below we have a Kubelwagen and a Sdkfz. 250/3 on reconnaissance.

Finally we have a Sherman supporting an infantry advance with the grey camouflage.

Old Models made into Dioramas

Hello its been a really long while since I last posted on this blog as I have been concentrating on my 25mm wargaming stuff but decided to add these few Dioramas I made last year from vehicles and figures I had built.

Above and below are a Tamiya Panzer mark IV with Panzer grenadiers in company

Next we have a Flakpanzer IV Mobelwagen with crew and troops using it for cover.
The Flakpanzer is being used as an anti infantry weapon with the guns levelled and the front port down.

Finally below is a Stermgeshutz with accompanying troops moving cautiously through a wood.
With tank riders and accompanying infantry.

New German Tanks and Figures

After all these years painting both wargames figures and models ,last year I built my first collection for 1/35 wargaming for the WWII desert...and so its now time for a collecton of the same for Europe.
I have masses of 1/35 stuff having collected for many years but not much painted so here I have started to paint for games on my terrain and below are the first troops and vehicles to be added.
The first is my Panzer IV with tank riders and camouflaged for Europe.
I have decided because of the vast stuff I have I can actually do the troops tank riding and then dismounted and in action.

Here we have a Sturmgeshutz again with tank riders and painted with a slightly different camouflage pattern for the theatre.

Below are a few shots of the two tanks advancing together.

My next piece is a Flakpanzer IV Mobelwagen being used as anti-personnel in the theatre and again has extra crew helping to load the guns.

Finally so far is the Hanomag and the Kubelwagon for troop transport and some of my first finished squad men...

Battle in Italy 1944

Above we see two of my previously shown dioramas that can be placed side by side to form a larger battle scene.
Here we have the German Sdkfz 223 and the US M3 Stuart light tank facing off against each other as the tank bursts through the gates of an Italian farm. Bit of a miss match but makes for a good larger scene.
Below is a little video I made to bring the diorama to life

Bringing Dioramas to life

Having found a great program on my computer for adding 3D effects to photos and for making videos I decided to have a play...below are some of my ideas

German SdKfz. 251/1 Hanomag & 7.5 cm pak 40

This diorama was quite large for me. It utilises two kits in the Hanomag and the Pak 40 and I also used various troops to become the team for the gun and the squad in the armoured carries. I did enjoy painting these and then finding ways to weather the piece for the right effect. Both were painted in camouflage first before snow was added. The trees were actually given a fine mist spray of matt white and then snow was added for effect.
Again here I started with a simple road surface base and again a simple picture frame surround.

German Panzerkampfwagen V Panther Ausf.A

This is one of those dioramas that when it comes together its simple but you just like. I had had the tank built for some time before deciding on the camouflage pattern and the theatre then when I found the right three figures it all came together.
The tank itself is from Tamiya as are the figures and that lovely tree just went well to give that wintery look.

one for the newspapers.
